"Perfectly Chocolate" Chocolate Cake

                                    Happy New Year.....
                  For this new year day, I baked chocolate cake.. It was the best chocolate cake we ever had.. I have baked chocolate cake many times before, but this was the best.. It is a must keepsake in the blog/cookbook.                   
                   I found this recipe from the back of Hershey's Cocoa powder box. As the name says, its the "Perfectly Chocolate" Chocolate cake. I never tried the recipes mentioned in the product box before.. But this is a eye opener for me, i started trying the recipes from the box rather than googling the recipe.
p.s : I halved the recipe and made one 9- inch round cake.





"Perfectly Chocolate" Chocolate cake

Ingredients:
All Purpose flour  - 1 3/4 Cups
Hershey's Cocoa  - 3/4 Cups
Baking powder     - 1 1/2 tsp
Baking Soda         - 1 1/2 tsp
Sugar                    - 2 Cups
Salt                       - 1 tsp
Eggs                     - 2
Milk                     - 1 Cup
Vegetable Oil       - 1/2 Cup
Vanilla Extract     - 2 tsp
Boiling water       - 1 cup

Procedure:

1. Preheat oven to 350℉ . Grease and flour two 9-inch round baking pans.
2. Sift all the dry ingredients together in a bowl.
3. Whisk two eggs in a separate bowl, add vanilla extract, milk and oil.
4. Make a well in the dry ingredients bowl and pour this wet ingredients to it.
5. Mix it very well. now stir in a cup of boiling water. The batter will be very thin.
6. Pour into greased pans. Bake for 30 to 33 mins, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
7. Let it cool for 10 mins.


"Perfectly Chocolate" Chocolate Frosting

Yields : 2 cups Frosting

Butter                 -1/2 cup
Hershey's cocoa - 2/3 cup
Powdered sugar - 3 cups
Milk                   - 1/3 cup
Vanilla extract     - 1 tsp

Procedure:
1. Melt butter and let it cool.
2. Stir in cocoa. Add powdered sugar and milk alternatively, beating it very well.
3. Scrape the sides of the bowl to make sure even mixing.
4. If the mixture is very dry, add small amount of milk.
5. Stir in vanilla extract.
